Milan design week is much more than an annual event, as it is one of the most important in the international design calendar, where it is celebrated in all its forms.
The event will take place from 15 to 21 April 2024.
For a week, the Italian city becomes the center of creativity, innovation and vision in terms of design, attracting designers, architects and design lovers from all over the world. Although there are "design weeks" in many cities of the world throughout the year, the one held in Milan is considered one of the most important, since it is where the event "Salone del Mobile" takes place, which is the largest furniture fair in the world where more than 1,000 exhibitors will take place and where the Fuorisalone also happens simultaneously.
The Fuorisalone is a series of events that turn Milan into a laboratory of ideas and creative expression where in the different districts of Milan you can find from artistic installations to innovative presentations, and so every corner of the city will breathe design during this unique week. These events have free activities but some may require tickets, depending on the nature and organization of the particular event. While the event "Salone del Mobile", which starts on April 16 until April 21, requires the purchase of tickets to access the exhibitions within the fairgrounds. The price of the ticket will depend on when you buy it and your assistant category, ranging between 40 and 55 euros for the general public, and between 50 and 70 euros for professionals related to design. It is important to note that access for the general public is only available on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21, while the professional pass allows access every day of the fair. Tickets can be purchased here.
The fair will be held at the Rho Fiera trade fair complex, with 16 pavilions, where the stands of thousands of brands and designers will be held. In addition to this, there will be indoor installations, one of which is the installation called "Interiors by David Lynch. A Thinking Room" by filmmaker David Lynch, who says that this room "awakens our sense of wonder, accentuates memorable moments and, through the scenic language of cinema and theatre, celebrates the design of a space in which to think not only as a physical room but, especially, as an interior region" and who has us with high expectations to whom we go.
The experience promises to be enriching, offering a deep dive into the design universe through exhibitions, installations and inspiring presentations. Design Week in Milan not only celebrates aesthetics and functionality, but also invites you to reflect on space, creativity and human experience in an environment where design becomes a transforming and stimulating force.
